Does this eSIM include a Chinese phone number?

No — this is a data-only eSIM with no phone number, and that's by design. In China, any SIM that includes a local phone number requires in-person ID (passport) verification before activation, usually meaning a queue at a carrier store after you land. A data-only eSIM skips that entirely: no ID check, no registration. You can still make voice and video calls and send messages through apps like WhatsApp and WeChat.

Can I receive SMS or verify accounts?

Traditional SMS is not supported, so this eSIM isn't suitable for receiving SMS verification codes. For calls and messaging, use apps such as WhatsApp, WeChat and similar services, which work fully.
