Product description

Plug it in. Forget about it. For up to 8 years.

A 4G GPS tracker SIM card built for caravans, vehicles, asset trackers and personal trackers across Australia. One payment up front. No monthly fees. No recharges. No surprise expiry the day you actually need your tracker.

  • Pay once, use for 1, 3, 5 or 8 years — no recurring charges, ever
  • Plug-and-play — no setup, no ID verification
  • Triple-cut SIM — fits any tracker (Standard, Micro, Nano)
  • Multi-network (Telstra + Optus 4G) — your tracker connects to whichever carrier delivers the best coverage at its location
  • Built for trackers — won't get killed by carrier "inactive SIM" cancellations

Why a multi-year SIM matters for GPS tracking

If you've ever come back to a stored caravan, trailer or boat and found your GPS tracker offline, you already know the problem.

Standard Telstra, Optus and Vodafone prepaid SIM cards expire after 28 to 180 days of inactivity. The SIM goes dead exactly when your tracker is doing what you bought it for — staying quietly online in the background.

A purpose-built multi-year tracker SIM keeps your device connected for years on a single one-time payment. No recharge cycles. No surprise expiry. No coming back to a dead tracker after the holidays.

And since the 2024 3G shutdown across Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, every GPS tracker in Australia needs a 4G SIM. This one is designed for the way GPS trackers actually get used — long-term, low-data, set and forget.

Will this SIM card work with my GPS tracker?

✅ Yes if your tracker is:

  • 4G LTE compatible
  • Designed for a Standard, Micro or Nano SIM card
  • Using between 100MB and 1GB of mobile data per month
  • Not subscription-locked to a proprietary carrier or service

❌ No if your tracker is:

  • 2G or 3G only — these networks shut down across Australia in October 2024
  • A dash cam, video tracker or device needing more than 1GB per month

Not sure? Email us your tracker model before ordering — we'll check it for free and reply within 24 hours.

How it works

  1. Choose your validity (1, 3, 5 or 8 years) and monthly data (100MB to 1GB)
  2. Your SIM ships from Melbourne with free Australia-wide delivery
  3. Insert it into your tracker — it connects within minutes

Network coverage in Australia

This SIM gives your tracker access to both Telstra and Optus 4G networks — Australia's two largest carriers. Your tracker's device decides which network to connect to based on signal strength at its location, so it can use whichever carrier delivers the best coverage where the tracker actually is.

This means you don't lock yourself into a single-carrier SIM. If your tracker spends most of its time in metro areas, on rural property, near the coast, or on the highway between them, the device picks the strongest network wherever it lands.

Combined Telstra + Optus coverage includes:

  • All capital cities and major regional towns
  • Most rural Australia and inland highways
  • Coastal areas and major boating regions
  • Most caravan parks and tourist destinations
  • Standard farm and rural property locations

For deep outback, dense bushland or off-grid use beyond any cellular range, satellite tracking is the only option — no cellular SIM of any kind will work in those areas.

Important things to know before ordering

⚠️ Data-only. This SIM does not support voice calls or SMS. If your tracker requires SMS for first-time setup, use a regular SIM to configure first, then swap in the Lemon Mobile SIM for ongoing use.

⚠️ 3G is gone. Australia's 3G networks closed in October 2024 (Telstra, Optus and Vodafone). If your tracker is 2G or 3G only, no SIM card will bring it back online — you'll need a 4G-compatible tracker.

⚠️ Subscription-locked trackers can't accept this SIM. Some tracker brands ship with non-removable SIMs or are firmware-locked to their own subscription service. Check your tracker has a physical SIM slot before ordering.

⚠️ Validity starts when you insert the SIM, not when you order. Your plan duration begins the day you insert the SIM into your tracker and it first connects to the network — not the day of purchase or shipping. This means you can buy now and store the SIM until you're ready to use it. Plans are extendable — contact support before expiry to renew.

GPS tracker SIM troubleshooting

Tracker not connecting? Work through these in order:

  1. Confirm your tracker is 4G LTE — not 2G or 3G only. Check the manual or look for "4G" or "LTE" on the device label.
  2. Check the SIM is the right way around — flip and reinsert if unsure.
  3. Wait 1-2 minutes after insertion for first connection. Indoor or low-signal locations may take longer.
  4. Verify APN is set to: mobile (lowercase, username and password blank).
  5. Power cycle the tracker (off, wait 10 seconds, on).
  6. Test in an area with confirmed 4G coverage — outdoors or near a window if you've been testing in a thick-walled room or basement.
  7. For SMS-controlled trackers, send a status command via SMS using a different SIM to verify the tracker is responsive.
  8. Still no connection? Email us — we'll work through it with you within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Will this SIM work with my specific tracker?

It works with most 4G LTE trackers that have a physical SIM slot. If your tracker is 4G LTE compatible, accepts a Standard, Micro or Nano SIM, and isn't subscription-locked, it should work. Email your tracker brand and model before ordering and we'll confirm compatibility.

Why did my GPS tracker stop working in late 2024 or 2025?

Australia's 3G networks shut down in October 2024 — Telstra, Optus and Vodafone all closed their 3G services. If your tracker is 3G only, no SIM card will work in it anymore; you'll need a new 4G-capable tracker. If your tracker is 4G capable, this SIM will bring it back online.

How long does the GPS tracker SIM stay active?

Your choice — 1, 3, 5 or 8 years from activation. Validity counts down from the day you insert the SIM into your tracker and it first connects to the network — not from the day of purchase or shipping. You can buy now and store the SIM until you're ready to use it.

Is there a monthly fee or recurring charge?

No. You pay once at purchase for the full validity period. No monthly fees, no recharges, no contracts, no auto-renewals. The longer the validity you choose, the lower the total cost works out to.

What APN settings does my tracker need?

APN: mobile (lowercase, no spaces). Username and password are blank for most trackers. The SIM is pre-configured, so most trackers connect automatically without manual APN entry.

How much data does a GPS tracker use per month?

Most GPS trackers use between 100MB and 500MB per month. Stored caravan and asset trackers typically use under 100MB. Active vehicle trackers with frequent location updates use 200 to 500MB. High-frequency live tracking can push usage toward 1GB.

Which mobile network does this SIM use — Telstra or Optus?

Both. This SIM has access to Telstra and Optus 4G networks. Your tracker's device decides which one to connect to based on signal strength at its location. This means in rural or remote areas where Telstra reaches further, your tracker can use Telstra; in metro areas where both carriers are strong, the device picks whichever is stronger. Both Telstra and Optus are tier-1 Australian carriers.

Will this SIM work in remote or rural areas?

Yes, anywhere within Telstra or Optus 4G coverage — which together cover most of populated Australia, including major rural highways, regional towns, coastal areas and most farms. Your tracker's device picks whichever carrier reaches its location. For deep outback, dense bushland or off-grid locations beyond any cellular range, satellite-based tracking is the only option.

What happens when the validity period ends?

The SIM stops working and your tracker goes offline. To renew, simply place a new order for your desired plan and leave a checkout note with your SIM ID and renewal request — we'll handle the extension for you. You can also contact support directly before the expiry date.

What if my tracker doesn't connect — can I get a refund?

Yes. 30-day money-back guarantee. If the SIM doesn't work with your tracker, contact us within 30 days for a full refund.

Where does the SIM card ship from?

Melbourne. Free shipping Australia-wide. Most orders dispatch within 1 business day.
