This SIM gives your device access to both Telstra and Optus 4G networks — Australia's two largest carriers. Your device connects to whichever network provides the best signal at its location, giving you broader effective coverage than a single-carrier SIM.

Combined Telstra + Optus coverage includes:

• Most coastal areas

For specific coverage in your deployment area, check the Telstra and Optus coverage maps before ordering — especially for remote or industrial sites. For deep outback, offshore or off-grid deployment beyond any cellular range, satellite connectivity is the only option.

Important things to know before ordering

⚠️ Data-only. This SIM does not support voice calls or SMS. It is designed purely for device data connectivity.

⚠️ 3G is gone. Australia's 2G and 3G networks shut down in October 2024 (Telstra, Optus and Vodafone). Devices that only support 2G or 3G will not work with any SIM in Australia — they must be replaced with 4G LTE compatible devices.

⚠️ Standard 4G LTE only. This SIM supports standard 4G LTE. It does not support LTE-M (Cat-M1) or NB-IoT (Cat-NB1) protocols. If your IoT device requires either of these low-power protocols, this SIM is not compatible.

⚠️ Validity starts when you insert the SIM, not when you order. Your plan duration begins the day you insert the SIM into your device and it first connects to the network — not the day of purchase or shipping. This means you can buy now and store the SIM until your device is ready to deploy. Plans are extendable — contact support before expiry to renew.

Device not connecting? Work through these in order:

1. Confirm your device is 4G LTE — not 2G, 3G, LTE-M or NB-IoT only.
2. Check the SIM orientation — flip and reinsert if unsure.
3. Wait 1-2 minutes after inserting for first connection. Indoor or low-signal locations may take longer.
4. Verify the APN is set to: mobile (lowercase, username and password blank).
5. Restart the device (power cycle — off, wait 10 seconds, on).
6. Test in an area with confirmed 4G coverage.

Which mobile network does this SIM use — Telstra or Optus?

Both. This SIM has access to Telstra and Optus 4G networks. Your device decides which one to connect to based on signal strength at its location. This means in rural or remote areas where Telstra reaches further, your device can use Telstra; in areas where both carriers are strong, the device picks whichever is stronger. Both Telstra and Optus are tier-1 Australian carriers.
