Australia & New Zealand GPS Tracker SIM Card — Pay Once, No Monthly Fees
One SIM. Two countries. Up to 8 years.
A long-term 4G data SIM for compatible GPS trackers in Australia and New Zealand. Use the same SIM, the same plan and the same monthly data allowance in either country — one payment up front, no monthly fees, and no SIM swap when your tracker crosses the Tasman.
- ✓ Works in Australia and New Zealand — one SIM, one plan, both countries
- ✓ Pay once, use for 1, 3, 5 or 8 years — no monthly fees, no subscriptions, no auto-renewals
- ✓ Network access in both countries — Telstra and Optus 4G in Australia, Spark and 2degrees 4G in New Zealand; actual connection depends on local coverage, device compatibility and network selection
- ✓ Triple-cut SIM — fits Standard, Micro and Nano SIM slots, no adapter needed
- ✓ 4G ready (post-3G shutdown) — designed for compatible standard 4G LTE trackers that accept a physical SIM
- ✓ Built for trackers — a data-only SIM whose long validity removes the recharge cycles that let standard prepaid SIMs lapse
Who this SIM is for
This SIM is built for GPS trackers that operate in, or move between, Australia and New Zealand — vehicles, caravans and trailers relocated across the Tasman, boats and marine assets that spend time in both countries, and equipment or asset fleets deployed on both sides.
Will this SIM card work with my GPS tracker?
✅ This SIM may be suitable if your tracker is:
- 4G LTE compatible, with support for the local 4G networks in the country where it operates
- Designed for a Standard, Micro or Nano physical SIM card
- Able to use automatic network selection
- Within a monthly data need that fits one of the available 100MB to 2GB plan allowances
- Not subscription-locked to a proprietary carrier or service
This includes car and vehicle trackers — hardwired, OBD plug-in or battery-powered — as long as the tracker uses 4G LTE, accepts a physical SIM card and isn't locked to a proprietary subscription service.
❌ Not suitable if your tracker is:
- 2G or 3G only — Australia's and New Zealand's 3G networks have now closed
- LTE-M (Cat-M1) or NB-IoT (Cat-NB1) only
- A dash cam, video tracker or other video-based device whose monthly data requirement exceeds 2GB

Choose your plan
All plans run on a single one-time payment for 1, 3, 5 or 8 years. Your plan has one monthly data allowance shared across both countries — for example, a 100MB/month plan provides one 100MB allowance each month, whichever country your tracker connects in:
| Plan | Monthly data | Suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 100MB | Trackers with standard reporting intervals |
| Plus | 200MB | Frequent updates and app monitoring |
| Pro | 500MB | High-frequency reporting and multi-feature trackers |
| Ultra | 1GB | Trackers with live-tracking or added features |
| Prime | 2GB | The heaviest non-video tracking workloads |
Choose the allowance based on your tracker's estimated or measured usage rather than the tracker type alone. See our GPS tracker data usage guide for reference estimates by reporting mode.
How it works
- Choose your validity (1, 3, 5 or 8 years) and monthly data (100MB to 2GB)
- Your SIM ships from Melbourne, Australia
- Insert it into your tracker and power on — allow a few minutes for the first network connection. The same SIM and APN settings apply in both countries
Network coverage in Australia and New Zealand
In Australia, this SIM gives your tracker access to both Telstra and Optus 4G networks — Australia's two largest carriers. Whether your tracker spends its time in metro areas, on rural property, near the coast or on the highway between them, it has access to both networks rather than being locked to a single carrier.
In New Zealand, the same SIM has access to both Spark and 2degrees 4G networks, covering the main centres, regional areas and major transport corridors across the North and South Islands.
In both countries, actual connection depends on local coverage, device compatibility and network selection at the tracker's location. Check the Telstra, Optus, Spark and 2degrees coverage maps for the tracker's actual operating area, particularly for regional, rural or remote deployment.
For deep outback, dense bushland, offshore waters or off-grid use beyond any cellular range, a cellular SIM cannot provide connectivity — a satellite-based tracking solution may be required.

Important things to know before ordering
⚠️ Data-only. This SIM does not support voice calls or SMS. If your tracker requires SMS for first-time setup, use a regular SIM to configure first, then swap in the Lemon Mobile SIM for ongoing use.
⚠️ 3G is gone in both countries. Australia's and New Zealand's 3G networks have now closed. If your tracker is 2G or 3G only, no SIM card will bring it back online — you'll need a 4G-compatible tracker.
⚠️ Standard 4G LTE only. This SIM does not support LTE-M (Cat-M1) or NB-IoT (Cat-NB1) protocols.
⚠️ Subscription-locked trackers can't accept this SIM. Some tracker brands ship with non-removable SIMs or are firmware-locked to their own subscription service. Check your tracker has a physical SIM slot before ordering.
⚠️ Validity starts at the SIM's first network connection, not when you order. Your plan duration begins on the date of the SIM's first successful network connection — not the date of purchase or shipping. This means you can buy now and store the SIM until you're ready to use it. Plans are extendable — contact support before expiry to renew.
FAQ
Can I use the same SIM card in Australia and New Zealand?
Yes. This SIM has network access in both countries — Telstra and Optus 4G in Australia, Spark and 2degrees 4G in New Zealand — and your plan has one monthly allowance shared across both countries. The same SIM and the same plan work on both sides of the Tasman.
Do I need to do anything when my tracker moves between the two countries?
The SIM needs nothing — no swap, no new plan. The same SIM and APN settings can be used in both countries. Your tracker must support the local 4G networks and be set to automatic network selection. Allow a few minutes for the first connection after arrival.
Will this SIM work with my specific tracker?
It may work with your tracker if the device supports standard 4G LTE, accepts a Standard, Micro or Nano physical SIM, and isn't locked to a proprietary subscription service. Contact us with your tracker brand and model before ordering and we'll help you check compatibility.
Can I use this SIM if my tracker only operates in one country?
Yes — it works in either country on its own. If your tracker will never leave one country, our Australia and New Zealand GPS tracker SIMs cover single-country use; this product is for trackers that need both.
How long does the SIM stay active?
Your choice — 1, 3, 5 or 8 years from activation. Validity counts down from the date of the SIM's first successful network connection — not from the date of purchase or shipping.
Is there a monthly fee or recurring charge?
No. You pay once at purchase for the full validity period you choose. No monthly fees, no recharges, no contracts and no auto-renewals.
What APN settings does my tracker need?
Setup details, including the APN setting, are in our device setup and APN guide. The same settings apply in both countries.
Will this SIM work in remote or rural areas?
It can connect where compatible Telstra, Optus, Spark or 2degrees 4G service is available, subject to device compatibility, local signal conditions and network selection. Check carrier coverage for the tracker's actual operating area in each country. For locations beyond any cellular range, a satellite-based tracking solution may be required.
What happens when the validity period ends?
The SIM stops working and your tracker goes offline. To renew, simply place a new order for your desired plan and leave a checkout note with your SIM ID and renewal request — we'll handle the extension for you. You can also contact support directly before the expiry date.
Where does the SIM card ship from?
Our SIM cards ship from Melbourne, Australia. Free shipping Australia-wide; shipping to New Zealand addresses is calculated at checkout.
